I love the drama of black in a room, any room, from the kitchen to the living room, the bedroom to the bathroom, office, hallway... Not a colour I would recommend for a Scandinavian interior or a small space as it would make it too dark and affect the sense of space, however, black is a powerful and bold colour I dare you to play with.

Before committing to the full monty you can experiment with black on an accent wall, paint the doors or trims, the floor or a signature furniture item. Personally, I love the impact of venetian mirrors against a black wall or the look of different black textures ton-sur-ton such as the Erinn Valencich nook. I also love the black mirror on the contemporary kitchen I have spotted on Living Etc.
