Sara Walker lives in a colourful and eclectic old brick and iron cottage on the Western coast of Australia. She sees herself as a creative spirit “trapped in the body of a public servant personal assistant” and blogs about “colourful, homely, creative things and sometimes just stuff” over at Sara One Day.

Cynthia and Adam are both artists, living in San Francisco in a house they have converted into a fresh and fun home, a work in progress since 2007. Adam is a professional illustrator and Cynthia is a graphic designer and they are also both musicians (check out their band’s website). You can spot some of their beautiful artwork around the house.

Cristina lives in a tiny 33 sq m ( 355 sq ft ) studio in the center of Högdalen, south of Stockholm in Sweden. She was one of my Ikea Expedit finds in Flickr and, at the time I loved the clean and contemporary, almost minimal look of her home.

Lisa Barrett, the blogger at Canberra's got Style, transformed an ordinary house lacking in architectural charm in Canberra, Australia, in a colourful and stylish home, featured in the Australian Home Beautiful Magazine in 2009. Lisa, who describes herself as an “interiors and fashion designer, stay at home mum, serial DIY maven and bargain hunter” designed an made most of the interiors herself.

Sonia is Portuguese by birth but currently lives in Holland with her Dutch husband and two kids. I found Sonia in a Flickr research for a recent post about the Ikea Expedit (I featured the one in the kids bedroom at the time), however, I couldn’t just stop there I had to share the rest of her fresh and contemporary home with you.

Kim lives in an adorable 1920’s mutt with her son (and greatest source of inspiration), husband and pooch in a town called Framingham, Massachusetts.  Both her home and her business – Etsy shop called Trampoline – are a reflexion of Kim’s passion for all things vintage which is exactly what caught my eye in a recent Flickr “excursion”.

Veronika lives in a beautiful home in Surrey, UK with her husband and little Anya, her cute and artistic daughter. The creative bug bit her from an early age “When I was a little girl my favourite activity was moving furniture in a dolls house and I still do it now” Veronika says.

She studied fashion and interior design but one day she created a big gold paper heart as a wedding gift for a friend, which she loved and that spurred up Veronika’s online business. She called it Sarah & Bendrix (after her favourite novel), a unique gift shop where Veronika sells her own “sentimental, modern, vintage, simple and beautiful” artwork creations.

Yvonne is an enthusiastic and crafty mum, currently living just south of Hamburg with her three children, husband and dog, who shares her zest for life, crafty endevours and mundane life in a lovely blog called Moline.

Her décor style is eclectic and full of character but kept to the minimum required for a functional life. Overall it feels like a spacious homely home very light and airy. That may be because Yvonne has lived a nomad life for almost a decade “setting up camp” in exotic places like Istanbul or Mexico City and now Germany. There is one thing in common with all of these homes though, they are all cool and stylish.

Rachelle the cool and sweet mummy blogger at Kenziepoo, lives just outside of Boise, Idaho with her husband and the cute Kenzie ( her daughter and muse ). She draws much of her décor inspiration from interior magazines and design blogs. Her cousin Kirsten from Simplygrove, a blogger and professional interior designer, also helps her out with tips and advice.

Jonathan Lo is an art director/editor living in Orange County in California, a man of many talents who blogs at Happy Mundane “to celebrate the ordinary and the extraordinary” aspects of life. “There's beauty in your soapdish” is Jon’s take on life and the things that are part of it.
