The Art Deco style emerged in the mid 1920’s and took inspiration on elegantly balanced geometrical shapes. Checkered black and white floors became very popular back then and I am happy to see this 20’s retro vibe has made a comeback. 

Don’t you love black and white photo walls? Black frames are the best match for black and white photos; they don’t have to match in style or shape, the colour will instantly unify them.

Henry Ford, founder of the Ford Motor Company, was reported as saying that "Any customer can have a car painted any colour that he wants so long as it is black". I am not suggesting that life is all about black & white, clearly there are shades of grey as well, however, this is such a timeless interior design classic, one which is very difficult to get wrong.
