Jamie Drake, the "king of colour" |
|||
|
It was love at first sight when I found New York based designer Jamie Drake. Called by many the “king of colour”, Drake has been perfecting his unique style for over 30 years. Original combinations, bold colour and eclectic furnishings reflect Drake’s unique design style, filled with loads of character. This is how Jamie Drake described how he works his magic to Decorati; “My take on color is painterly. I find unusual shades and juxtapositions intriguing. Each room and each project offers different opportunities—sometimes I employ colorful accents in a more neutral space and other times a room will be slathered with color in a variety of tones and shades. Every surface is absolutely considered even if it’s one that’s off-white or gray—it’s all part of an overall vision.”
