Flickr real life homes: Cynthia and Adam’s 1920’s home |
|||

Cynthia and Adam are both artists, living in San Francisco in a house they have converted into a fresh and fun home, a work in progress since 2007. Adam is a professional illustrator and Cynthia is a graphic designer and they are also both musicians (check out their band’s website). You can spot some of their beautiful artwork around the house. White was the conscious choice for the walls as a backdrop for colourful things and the couple has been very hands on the DIY front, building furniture, painting and generally fixing what was needed in their 1920’s home. Cynthia is very eclectic in her choices and likes to combine unexpected elements like fancy with utilitarian things and she also enjoys repurposing items :“I just set up a new jewelry storage system with muffin tins although I'm thinking that ice cube trays might work better, so there is a flexibility with using things not necessarily as they are intended” says Cynthia. What about your favourites, I asked her: “Certainly some of the most cherished are paintings or drawings. Around the time when my husband and I first met, he went on a trip with a group of fellow artists to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. I wasn't able to make it due to work. I received some postcards which are covered in collaborative drawings. They get a place of honor in our living room.” Do stop by her Flickr set for more eye candy.
